From paper mill to a
new neighborhood

A former industrial site is writing a whole new success story

Cham Group is developing a new residential and working neighborhood with industrial charm on the Papieri site. The distinctive buildings of the original paper mill will be joined by striking new additions, in a sustainable design. A new gathering place is taking shape here, on the bank of the Lorze, with huge appeal for those from the local region and far beyond. The past and the present come together in perfect harmony.

Sustainability is more than just a buzzword here

The Papieri site has an energy system that is one of a kind within Switzerland: all of the energy required for heating and cooling, and almost half that required to cover the development’s electricity, is generated on site. In 2024, Papieri Cham was awarded the «Energy Oscar» by the Federal Office of Energy, which underlines the pioneering role of the area.
