An architectural masterpiece

This factory building dating from 1912 was built in the chateau style fashionable in that era and is the imposing southern face of the paper mill. It is a brick-and-mortar expression of the factory’s importance at the time.

The original access to the Kalandersaal was directly from Fabrikstrasse. (1912)
The paper hall was directly above the calender machine. (1925)
The tall calender machine reached from floor to ceiling in the Kalandersaal. (1934)
This striking turret was created when the elevator was installed in 1924.

Today, the unique Kalandersaal is rented out for events.
