Opening river hydroelectric power plant with museum

On February 23, 2023, the first licensed river hydroelectric power plant in the canton of Zug was ceremonially opened in the Papieri. A small museum section is integrated into part of it, which shows, among other things, the original turbine of the old paper mill power plant. An impressive fish ladder including a beaver staircase is part of the power plant, which contributes to the fact that about 50% of the energy required on the Papieri site is produced locally in Cham.

Around 70 people and representatives of the municipality and the canton celebrated the new power plant with a raclette in the calender hall.
